The abrupt appearance and rapid spread of covid-19 has left many businesses formerly dependent upon production from abroad exposed and vulnerable. It is entirely natural that they now review and possibly alter their supply chains.

By law, when a piece of jewellery is sold in the UK, it must be hallmarked to confirm the purity of the precious metal, irrespective of where it was made. A recent initiative by the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) has resulted in a new hallmark- a “Created in the UK” hallmark, which will identify jewellery made in Britain.
